Write quality content, make the visitors to be interested in the information you provide, also submit articles to on-line magazines and other content sites.

Try getting lots of links in to your website from directories and forums, put your website in your forum signature. You'll soon get up the search engine rankings.

Do you sell tangible products or services? To be honest it's hard to beat PPC as far as advertising avenues are concerned.

There are several important directories you can submit to, but most of the small directories do not help much unfortunately.

Hi,

I suggest doing an submission to all the free directories that are out there such as dmoz.org, google, yahoo.

Search on google free directories.

Begin your submission its free ;) not sure if you will get quality traffic but it allows you to start some where.

Get links pointing to your site that are on the same topic and your search engine rankings will improve and so will your traffic. If you are selling products on your site though, then I would take the Adsense ads off as it just looks like you are not making money and people will not purchase of you so much.
