Participation to forum discussions by following the Rules iwll bring some traffic. You can also create a link page and to exchange links. The good practise here is to partner with web sites that canbring some traffic not to work search engines.

It is also good for you to spend some money in advertising. Less than $100 per month at the begining.

Publish articles and blogging also helps. But the best advice you can get is to focus on adding valuable content to your web site!

After trying many ways of getting my website to search engines I find out a different and free method of getting my website noticed.
freeviral (http://www.freeviral.com/) , linkscout (http://linkscout.com/index.cfm?page=index), adsplit.com (http://adsplit.com/)

...I tried them and after some months I got some numbers moving on my traffic stats. I got a reseller hosting service After 8 months 9 clients have signed up using this way of marketing.

Note: "I am using my webhosting service for my clients which I know who they are and I am not paying any advertiment at all"

I don't know how this works but I think 9 people in 8 months is not bad keeping on mind that I am not advertising at all.

I hope you find my story useful!

You can search engine optimize your web site and attract targeted keyword searches. In the long run, this is very effective in reaching out to customers. However, depending upon how much you know about SEO and how competitive the business is, it may take a long time and you need a lot of patience.

A few suggestions in addition to the above mentioned:

- Publish press releases
- Add your site to related directories
- Local advertising
- Partner with other businesses (web design companies, graphics designers, etc.)
- PPC advertising (Google Adwords, Yahoo SearchMarketing, etc..)

1. PPC is going to be your best way but unless you have a little cash to spend it want help you.

2. You should create a blog and start posting articles about hosting on it everyday.

3. Submit the site to every SEO friendly directory you can find.

4. Find web design companies and work out a partnership with them.

5. Start adding pages to the site and go after the long tail searches

6. Use SMO

Done right you should be able to get a site up to around 1,000 to 2,000 unique visitors per day in the first two weeks but it takes a lot of work.

Google Adwords is another thing you can think about... they are those ads you see at the side of the page when you do a google search. The ads relate to whatever was searched for based on keywords you provide, and you pay a certain amount per person that clicks on your ad.

It can get expensive, but it can also be helpful sometimes.

I agree with smartpost123 about that form of advertisement. The best way to get known is exposure through being active in forums, making bids with top rank organizations, and actively working on spreading the word through the internets many advertising forums and classifieds.

Probably Google Ads. I used to use Google Ads for sites I used to run, and I would get a lot of visitors from them. :)

adwords and the yahoo and msn equivalents all give you free cash for signing up if you find the right links. also look for seo optimization techniques (just google it for more info)
