View Full Version : Alternatives to Paysystems...
Well, we're finally fed up with all the downtime and are looking for a new payment processor. Can anyone reccommend a good company?
I've heard of 2Checkout and a few others, but don't know who is the best. Also, I'd like the system to work with either ModernBill or PerlBill as we're going to be upgrading our systems when we make the change.
Thanks,

Have you considered a real merchant account?

For some reason, I thought PerlBill and/or Modernbill didn't integrate with 2Checkout (yet?), though I could be wrong. I've used 2Checkout and it's fine for me, but I don't push thousands of transactions through them.

Have you considered a real merchant account? I have... but did the math and until we're pulling in several thousand/month in revenues the costs don't equal out... the monthly fees far outweight the high transaction fees of third party merchants.
I may go ahead and get a real merchant account, however, just to easily integrate and so we will own the entire process... and won't have to rely on another company in between that can go down (like paysystems has been doing the past month)

We did the merchant account thing from the beginning. Yes the fees were a little higher to begin with...but I have now far surpassed the breakeven point and I am very happy with the stability it provides...as well as the professionalism.
Off topic: Hey I see you are from LaGrange, Ga. I grew up in Lanett, AL. I go to LaGrange often.
What a small world! :D I was born and raised in LaGrange and have many family members and friends around Lanett and the Valley.

yeah 2checkout or worldpay. worldpay is more expensive, but also more stable. Im not with 2checkout, but they seem to be okay, unless theres a problem, which they will be slow to sort out. But as 'they' say, you get, what you pay for.
