Hello all! :kitty2:

I have a few questions that just will not leave me alone.

How effective is writing an article and submitting it to article sites in terms of gaining more customers?
Is it wise to use safe lists or opt-in lists for marketing perposes?
As a reseller should local marketing be more effective?
Lastly, where can i find local markets?

I enjoy trying more things in terms of marketing. The reason for these questions is that I have had a few people inquire of the services but none became clients. I follow up promptly but, I don't want to bombard or brow beat potential customers with the services I provide.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. :kitty2:

Hi xan,

1. It depends on whether the article you have written is a good fit with the site it is posted on and with the service you provide. It also depends on whether the article is posted in a prominent place on the publisher's Website, or hidden where it is nearly impossible to find.
2. Yes, it is - as long as you make very sure that folks know they are optiing in to receive email.
3. Yes, local marketing is much more effective - and not just if you're a reseller.
4. Your city is your local market. :)

What kind of questions are these clients asking of you? If they are all asking the same question or questions, you may need to look at the service you are offering, or the way you answer the question - perhaps there is something you need to change in one or both of those areas.

I hope that gives you some direction.

P.S. When I visited your site, I got a lot of pop-ups and some spyware tried to install on my system - if you have put this on your site, I would remove it at once, as that would be the clear reason why you are not getting customers.

Thank you for these answers. I will remove the popups. I will also try my city as a local market. Now would it also be that the design of the site is too cluttered?

The questions they ask are:

what kind of plan do you recommend?
I have a very large site that requries a larg database and scripting. Can you compensate for that.
Do you take special plan requests?
Do you Offer Cpanel hosting?

Thes are only a few questions people ask.

xan,

I do not think your Website looks too cluttered, but it does look awfully "template-y", so I am asuming that it is a template. This is something that could be discouraging signups as well - if customers are recognizing that your site is not unique, they may think that you are a here-today, gone-tomorrow operation.

If those are some of the primary questions you are receiving from customers, what are your answers to each of them? If the majority of your answers are 'no', then perhaps you need to re-align your services so that they better match customer needs.

Yes, a very good local marketing tactic can push alot of quality sales to your business. Also, a press release can be sent to many different magazines, websites, and papers to help you push your product as well. Even in the case that your product doesn't exactly match the content of the website, or other places you are marketing to, webhosting is a service that many people can use. And could benefit them greatly. The only way to find out for sure is to try it, and see what your outcome is.
