Nope. As soon as I heard about this new latest and greatest method of spam being sent out I immediately disabled the 'Messenger' service. Haven't received one yet. However, I know people who have and I've seen them before on other machines. Thanks for the warning about this one.

A bit off topic but on the topic of messenger spam. I was reading a thread on HardForums.com about 6 months ago, and some high school kids were goofing around with netsend (messenger) and one *accidently* typed "netsend * "SHUT UP!" (not sure if that was the exact message but besides the point) and it went all the way across the Seattle school network. Elementary schools were freaking about. I'm sure the network admins figured out why they should have used subnets... I should go find the thread.
Bah, thats nothing, we had netbus installed in all of the labs at my old high school. If you know what it is, you could understand the hilarity that ensued. (well it was funny to the geeks anyway, the teachers sort of got pissed off  )
Your post came up in the Yahoo.com search engine under a search for keyword "MessageStop.net" and so I thought this post would help others in my predicament.
I started getting these annoying Messenger Service popup messages you describe in your post from MessageStop.net (see attached JPG screen shot) starting a few days ago.
I went to MessageStop.net and read their offer to buy a program to disable their messages and other messages. The idea of paying $9.95 using a credit card to a non-U.S. company with a Canadian address for its domain name, at least to me, smacks of "greenmail" for lack of a better word.
I started searching the net and discovered how to stop these pesky messages by disabling Microsoft's Messenger Service!
I also learned in a book from Microsoft Press called "Microsoft Windows INSIDE and OUT" (excellent book by the way) on page 1308, that Messenger (not to be confused with the other Messenger you use to send messages back and forth from Windows XP) that this Local Service can be SAFELY DISABLED IN MOST CASES and also switched to "Manual" mode. Before disabling this service, I'm experimenting with Manual mode since a reference is made to Plug and Play using Messenger Service on occasion.
I ran across a site that gives a few simple instructions on how to disable Messenger Service for free (http://www.pop-up-blocker.info/) and here's how to do it:
1. Go to Start, then Run and type in services.msc Click Ok
2. Scroll to Messenger, select it, right click it and choose Properties.
3. Under startup choose "Disabled", then choose Stop.
4. When stopped, click Ok.
Before I disabled my Messenger Service, I decided to do a little experiment. I changed the Startup Type to "Manual" and then Stopped the service to see if the spammers could restart it. This will at least in theory allow legit services like Plug and Play to manually start the service if it is needed. However, it this doesn't work then the Microsoft Press book quoted above says that "in most cases" it is okay to completely disable the Messenger Service (using the above instructions).
