Some additional info:
The IBM e325, featuring AMD Opteron processors, packs impressive computing power in a 1U rack-optimized design. Designed for high-performance computing, this server is ideal for customers needing leading 32-bit performance with an easy migration path to 64-bit computing at an affordable price. The AMD Opteron architecture uses an integrated memory controller and innovative Hypertransport technology to provide memory access and substantial I/O bandwidth at the speed of the processor. By eliminating many major bottlenecks, the e325 can deliver exceptional performance for compute-intensive applications needed for high-performance computing. In addition to delivering outstanding 64-bit price/performance, the e325 enables customers to run both 32-bit and 64-bit applications simultaneously. This feature gives customers the flexibility to run existing applications and operating systems at peak performance today - while also providing a 64-bit migration path for future applications to grow as your business needs.

That is a very good price. My Dell 2850s were a little more than that with 1gb instead of 2gb.

I would have been in the market in November, but I bought 8 2850s from Dell then. Have to get those filled up before we do another batch.

Price, that price is in the range of discounts you can get on new fully warrented equipment. Surplus usually sells for pennies on the dollar.

New price is close to $3k once everything is said and done. So, this price is pennies.

Yep... Price.. You are simply asking too much for servers that are surplus or used...

I can get new from IBM with incentives discounts for about and perhaps less than you are asking.....
