Hi there everybody,

I am new to these forums, and require your expert advice urgently.

Last year, I bought a DirectI Reseller Package from Nexus IT Solutions Pvt. Ltd. in New Delhi who had their website under the name www.technolozy.com. A few days back, I came to know that the Directors of the abovementioned company were arrested by the Economic Offences Wing of Delhi Crime Branch for using stolen data of US credit cards and cardholders. Which could be verified from the below mentioned links:

http://www.tribuneindia.com/2006/20060110/delhi.htm
http://cities.expressindia.com/full...p?newsid=164901

However, this could have been of least concern to me in any other circumstance, but for the fact that the abovementioned company has stopped its operations now, and have blocked the access to my reseller control panel and, as a result, I have been unable to manage not only my reseller package’s control panel, but also the control panel of the website I have booked and recently renewed under my name. This is causing me great difficulty, and loss of precious business. Every time I try to log into my control panels, it gives the below mentioned error message:

Error Message: The URL you have typed is either incorrect or has been changed. Please contact our Support desk if you continue to get this error.

I have tried to contact the Directors of the abovementioned company, but to no avail. Nobody picks up the phone, and their office is locked.

As a last resort I contacted DirectI’s support, and they very curtly told me that they only support first level resellers, and not the sub-resellers. However, I brought it to their notice once again that the control panel for managing domain reselling with the address http://www.40295.myorderbox.com/ is provided by DirectI itself, and the First Level Reseller is responsible only to sell the services that are originally provided by DirectI. The First Level Reseller does not control the abovementioned control box, it is ultimately a service provided by DirectI. I also brought it to their notice that there is still balance left in my abovementioned Domain Name Reseller Control Panel, and there is no way that their reseller could have access to my Domain Name Reseller Control Panel without their explicit cooperation.

I even requested them in this regard, not to become a party to the crime committed by their reseller, and please restore my Domain Name Reseller Control Panel to me. Since their reseller has already committed one crime, now by denying me access to my reseller control panel, they are committing yet another crime, because there is still some balance left in my control panel to book domain names.

Now would you please guide me in this regard as to what action should I now take. Since I am already based in India, I am planning to initiate legal proceedings against DirectI directly because the sub-reseller control panel was provided by it directly, and the reseller was only liable to resell it further on. In addition, DirectI is directly liable, if one of its reseller blocks the services it has sold on behalf of DirectI. In addition, I am planning to involve the consumer protection court in India to protect my rights as a customer.

After all this, I would like your precious advice whether anyone of you had actually had such an experience. And also whether the course of action planned by me is correct.

Do revert back with precious advice as I am losing my sleep over this whole issue.

With best regards.

Well, I have seen the DirectI website, and I am afraid that I cant find their TOS or AUP. So, The policy of DirectI is still not clear to me as it is not written in their website anywhere.
Usually, Webhosting companies giving the reseller hosting packages have such type of policies in which they promise support for the First level reseller only, and then it is the First level reseller who provide support to their resellers. (sub-resellers)
If the aforemention policy is stated anywhere in their website, then I think your stand in this case is a bit weak.
You can not challenge them that as you are using their control panel, so its their duty to provide support to you. Obviously, the control panel is with the package that you bought from the First reseller and it remains same if you sold that to anyone else. What matter most is that Is there any agreement between you and DirectI ?. I think that you only have the agreement with the First level reseller, so its their duty to provide you support with all the features in the package that you have bought from them, thats how I think.
However, in your case as the First level reseller is involved in some fraudalent cases, so in my opinion DirectI should give some relaxation in his policies( if there are any) for you.
I hope this issue resolve quickly in favour of you.
Best of Luck.

they are committing yet another crime, because there is still some balance left in my control panel to book domain names. The balance in your account is based on funds you paid to the reseller, not Directi. In other words, when you fund your account those funds actually go directly to the owner of your sub-account (the reseller) and are never touched or owned by Directi.

A long time ago I have a very similar situation with a company called FEATUREPRICE they took my money and I never heard of them again. They dissapeared with a lot of money from resellers. It was a very sad story.

The worst of all was that I have a lot of customers on their servers and all my accounts from night to day dissapeared, I couldn´t sleep for serveral days. But I decided to try connecting via IP and for my surprise the server was on and I could make a copy of all my accounts and moved them to another server. It showed me a very important lesson, always to have a backup just in case.
