We have been in buisness for a couple of months now, but I'm wondering what else I can do to get more customers. My prices are pretty competitive. We just got a new design
What else can I do? and also what are your thoughts on eze-host.com

Try a pay per click advertising program such as Google Adwords.
However, word of mouth is probabley your most powerful advertising method you can use. Nothing is better than referal from a friend who's experienced with a host.
Also, don't underestimate your local market.

Your site is not working for me. :uhh:
You should consider the points to get targeted audience to your services at your site.
1. You can use PPC advertising.
2. Link exchanges with the relevant site and affiliate marketing and referral program is also nice way to go.
3. You should encourage your friends to pass on information. Word of mouth is nice tool for promotion of your business.
4. You should also put articles in the free articles submission site such as ezinearticles.com.
5. You can also place press releases online to free press releases site such as openpress.com.
6. you should also put your site title on your visiting cards and place articles in the magazines as well to capture local market. :)

I do not recommend Pay per click. Most of them are just rip off.
I have been there , done that. Word of mouth is the best, and an active web hosting forum.
Thank you guys very much for all the useful tips cheers

Try Adwords, Writing articles and including your sites link in it, offering an affiliate program where people can join and then you give them commissions for sales that they generate for you, etc.
Google AdWords would definitely help you out.
Also, the name of your company is not quite flowing - and your URL certainly is not one that is easy to remember.
Local marketing is your friend! :) Use it for all it's worth!
The best thing for us has been word of mouth Treat your customers well and they WILL return the favor.
Local Marketing is extremely important and often overlooked and I am with GlobalWebBrands and webbist on this one.
Something else that works well is find something that you are personnally interested in and generate customers from this "niche market" And don't overlook even the smallest one. If it is something you enjoy doing then I bet there are others out there that do as well and could benefit from being on the web.

I hope that you have success with your web hosting directory. I also have one, and I know how hard it is to get visitors to it as there are so many web hosting providers on the Web. So trying to get paid advertising for my web hosting directory in Adwords and other ppc search engines can be costly as web hosting providers are using alot of the keywords available and they pay alot.

I agree with n2972s.
Local marketing is probably one of the cheapest and most effective methods you can use.
Why not think about
skimming the telephone book for businesses without websites and asking them if they've considered it. I'd suggest snail-mail though, because email just looks cheap and lazy
going round shops or local businesses with flyers and brochures - flyers first, then brochures if they look interested.
Have you seen heard about a guy running conferences and charging local businesses to come to hear him talk about the advantages of a website? He says he gets about a 30% signing up rate to his hosting plans. Thats pretty impressive
Just my 2 cents
Mike

Very true. It takes time but they are your best customer, they know what to expect, require less support, and have been pre-sold by a happy camper. It's a slow but sure process but it works.
PPC, host search or quote things etc. are all rip-off's, tried numerous variations, offered great promotions, etc. None ever came close to a return on investment...so we went back to slow but sure and best of all, less expensive

I suggest to go with forum or google adwords.

Hi,
I wouldnt suggest using adwords in the hosting business if thats what you are doing as you will be charged per each click and its expensive!

I feel in order to make money you need to spend a bit of money

i would not suggest google adwords also, unless you want to pay about $5.00 a click.

You can try on Ebay, millions of shoppers sell everything there

I have heard about people selling hosting on Ebay. However, I agree...Start small and then expand. You'll be bound to get quite a few customers fast. Then, you can possibly start advertising once you've made a nice amount of money.

I wouls like to know why there are so many responses against google ad words.. I always thought they are the best way of increasing your sales
I recall a case where Google was accused using a software to make the "clicks " happen - However the best way to get The word out
is to hire a Marketing expert Who will advise you and Create a marketing plan with you - Face To face -..

A few things I noticed when visiting your Website-
- It took about 30 seconds to load, which is way too long. It looks like you may have way too many graphics - or, possibly, the server it is hosted on is slow or has a slow Internet connection.
- The name is not pronouncable.
- The graphics on the site are fuzzy.
Those are three main things that jumped out at me right away. The first and third points are easy to fix. And if you use PPC marketing or local marketing, the second point should not be too much of an issue.
Good luck.

There *are* niche keywords... you don't have to pay for the word 'hosting' or phrase 'web hosting' to get some traffic. :nono:

I've read in a few places that people have used myspace to generate traffic. Through use of bulletins on accounts that have over 20k friends, the site's url would reach all of them, but the problem is, how many are online and how many would actually click it. I've never used it myself but many people have claimed it works well.
