...it wants the child to live at the web hosting data centre where he will be provided with food, clothing, shelter and love from the owner and employees.
I'm waiting for the part about madatory tattooing of the company name on the kid's head for the PR shots and tabloids.

I heard something about this recently on another forum. I can't remember what the outcome was, but it was rather interesting for sure. Something that strikes me is that their website does not work very well. :/ Alot of dead links and blank pages...

Let us hope that the child fares better...

This has to be a publicity stunt. Even if they are really interested in doing this, no adoption agency would allow such a thing. Some people/companies will do anything to get some press.

Agreed, and honestly I'd have more respect for them if they filmed employees running over live squirrels in front of the datacenter for internet fetish freaks.

this is non-sense why would someone do that?

I remember when this was announced. I took a look and dug into it more - sadly, the company is indeed serious about this, although so far they have not been able to go through with their plans. I find it frightening that a company would even suggest wanting to do this.

I honestly can't imagine a single adoption agency even contemplating taking the business, let alone think that social services is going to be impressed with the "locking cage" I'm sure they'll use for a bedroom (that way he's secure). If you really want to make a difference, donate some time & money into local boys & girls clubs, or a mentoring outreach program or something to help out neighborhood kids who need a healthy environment to learn in and get some education that they might not otherwise be able to afford. Either way, I really hope that we never see this one actually go through, I can't imagine the child's life being happy while being raised by weekend NOC staff & such.

It's sad that one would even think about doing this. I'm sure the child would think it's fun being there at first but I would think it would screw the child up in the long run.

I always try to remind myself that there are some absolutely retarded people in this world and unfortunately, we all deal with some of them on a daily basis. The person that came up with this idea has lost his mind. There is no chance in hell that this will ever go through.

You know, one does sometimes wonder - who the hell is running these Web hosts?
