I set it up a little while ago, just before the current version came out. For the price, its great! Took me a little while to learn to navigate around the admin area, and find what I wanted, but once you do it does pretty much everything you could need. Oh, and did I mention the price is right! ;)
I think I made a mistake or cant find the setting ...I set myself up as a client in php coin made up an invoice went to email it and Im getting an error message that says if it keeps happening to go to the help forum.............what did I do?
I broke it!! :cry2:

IMO, I would never use a free script to control the invoicing and mangement of my clients transactions.

http://www.phpcoin.com/ It's a free package for resellers to handle clients, orders, invoices, and notes.
Edit: Robert beat me to it! DOH!

Then what would you use?
Ah, I see. Yeah, don't really trust my cc numbers to just anyone. I'm currently using ClientExec (http://www.clientexec.com) and am really happy with it so far. :)

Sendmail doesn't handle your clients bills, credit card #s, critical information, etc.
We use Modernbill and are 100% Satisifed.

the price is a mute point ...Ive had software that costs 400$ and have it stink....and Ive had freeware that Id never part with ..if it works it works.....I used to be a beta tester for Homesite do you know how many really bad bugs (like crash your computer bugs) there is in that program? and they still release it for $$$
price is not an indicator or how good something is.

yano none of this is helping me with my cant send the email problem .....well off to the php coin forum to see what if anything I did wrong
It's not the price, but the development. RedHat might be free but has a large development team and a huge backing that ensures potential security holes are patched immediately.
Same with OSCommerce. How many people are working on that PHPCoin? The website looks a little small to be a large project... but it may be. I don't konw. I'd have to investigate it a lot further before making a decision, but am already happy with CE.
Sorry Laci, I've got no idea about your problem, I've never run into it. Try their forums, the guy who developed it is pretty good at helping people out.
As for the rest of the thread, if some people don't trust their data to it, fine, thats your choice. Same as its mine to use it for the parts of it that I like. Thats life! ;) Maybe I run it on an offline server in my office, maybe I don't use it to keep track of CC info?!
eh... phpCOIN does not store CC information.
ATM.. it is setup so that you provide payment links to your processor.. eg 2checkout, paypal, paymate etc...
