View Full Version : clientexec!
I love it! I would reccomend any new web hosts using this for starters! It offers a support feature along will a automaticly creating accounts in your cpanel. We just set ours up, and its totally worth it. I can now just sit back and relax. No more of the :coffee: days. :)

the software can be used at any level of business - starter newb to dedicated etc.
We use it and resell to clients - there are some things lacking, but the fact you can bill in multi currency makes it the only usuable software out there for us.
I'm amazed this hasn't started a flame war; billing, control panels & kb's discussions usually do.
I would agree that it is a great billing package and we use it exclusively. However, it still needs a bunch of features...

correct - we are buying support trio from active campaign which will go a long way to fix some of the downsides.
As long as they do thier job all scripts are good :)
Well the next version will have a lot more features (from what I've been told). The only thing I had to do to fit my needs was install a coupon mod so I can give coupons/discounts to customers. Other than that, it was all very easy to setup. I was going to use modern bill, but my host gave this product to me when I bought there plan, so I decided just to go ahead with it.
Sorry to say, but I don't really like ClientExec.
I used it for 3 months then switched to WHM AP. Why? Well, first off because WHM AP has instant activation and the ability to create reseller..
And I think WHM AP is more user friendly.
Just my $0.02..

Well clientexec has instant activation, and the ability to create reseller aswel. ;)
the ability to create reseller aswel. ;)
Unless it came out in a later version, I don't think it has and it was confirmed by many people (incl. Clientexec staff) that it'd come out in a later version.

It's supposed to be in version 2.6, which is at release candidate 2 stage and due for general release "soon"
Yes, sorry for the confusion. It will be out in version in 2.6

I use and prefer WHM AP I used to use clientexec. I find WHM AP more user frendly and it has better server intergration

the new 2.6 version is really nice - better server integration. It can also redirect support to external apps so you now dont have to use the built in support software :-)
There seems to be several new solutions coming into the market now - anyone used them??

mind you I have just been reading some of the new posts on v5 or modernbill - multi currecy and some nice newer features seem to be coming. Looks like they will be sneaking new stuff into the v5 release after all . . .
To be fair, multi currency in the new version of MB was promised by them to me just after Christmas LAST year.
At least WHMAP added in duplicate WorldPay and Paypal options so I could try to do this myself :)

I really dont like anything but whmautopilot, its a very nice and easy script to install. has automated whm integration and is very cheap. :)

We're very happy with ClientExec at the moment. As mentioned above, we had to "tweak" a few things to get it working the way we wanted it (including adding the coupon mod) but we find it to be a reliable and efficient piece of software :)

CE 2.7 beta is out, with built in support for coupons and crons for invoice generation and account activation etc.
Still in beta right now but so far no bugs that I've found.

I'll get round to trying it at some point.. How easy was it to upgrade?
Cheers

Will if you're already running 2.6.2 then you can just download the incremental upgrade files, upload, hit up the install.php file, click a couple buttons, delete the install file and you're good to go. Took me all of 5 minutes to upload and upgrade my install. So far the only thing I've found wrong with it is one grammatical error, but no actual bugs.

Hi Donna
I notice there's only a "Ioncube Incremental" and not a "Zend Incremental".
I'm currently using 2.6.2 and f I wanted to use the zend version, i'd have to reinstall it completely and I don't really fancy installing ioncube atm.
Any ideas?
Thanks
They didn't have a Zend version before.

So to upgrade, do I have to install ioncube on the server and then upload "ion incremental" to perform the upgrade?
Thanks

If it's working now you'll have the ioncube loaders in your Clientexec file strucutre. You will therefore only need the incremental version but be warned it is beta software and there are bugs however on the official forums patched files are being issued rapidly.
Ioncube loaders only tend to need updating as the php version increments.
