My guess would be that the CIA wouldn't email you asking them to call them. I'd just delete it and move on.

Also please note (see attachment)...

haha nice attachment. Check to see where the IP Address is coming from it's probably from another country. We get fake paypal ones all the time.

Its a worm mailer, check over on www.symantec.com I think they have it listed. It's been around for a couple of weeks now.

If you antivirus didn't detect it, then you probably now are infected.

Try to do an online scan, go to:
http://housecall.antivirus.com
and use the SCAN ALL option. It is free, and will check how is computer.

- Sergio

Yeah I think a filter actually snagged one of them for an account I ahve. OP stated that, "MOST OF THEM WERE UNDELIVERABLE BECAUSE THEY WERE DETECTED HAVING VIRUSES" so that probably means they were filtered for her too (thus, not infected). Never hurts to do a scan though, so the advice is still valid.

Thank you, I did delete this e-mail. I did a yahoo search of the phone number and found that I wasn't the only one who has been getting e-mails from the CIA- FBI. I'm pretty sure it contained some kind of worm.

This email comes with an attachment that contains the virus, so I blocked on the server (email filtering) all the emails that on the "body" appears the following:

Ebay-User_RegC.zip
downloadm.zip
Ebay.zip
Email.zip
Email_text.zip
list.zip
mail.zip
mail_body.zip
mailtext.zip
question_list.zip
reg_pass.zip
reg_pass-data.zip

But I found that some words are the same so I reduced the list to:
downloadm.zip
mail.zip
body.zip
text.zip
list.zip
reg_pass (without zip)
And so far, so good.

Regards,
- Sergio

Yep we've had our fair share of these. I'm tired of blocking them; but now it appears these messages are coming from @hotmail.com, @netscape.net and @yahoo.com so I just decided to report them... Time to fight fire with fire against Spam :)

I got a fake FBI email first then a fake CIA email saying I visited illegal websites.

In reality would the FBI and the CIA really do nothing but just send us emails telling us what we did wrong or would they come to the law breakers door and question that person, and family

What's sad is that if that number above resolves, it probably rings to an old lady who has no idea what the heck people are talking about when they call. I won't try it just in case, heh.

AntiVir is better, It's succeeded in more VB100 Independant Tests.

Hard to beat Kaspersky Anti-Virus (http://usa.kaspersky.com/downloads/trial-versions.php?aw=kaspersky) + eWido (http://www.ewido.net/en/) anti-malware (much better spyware remover than Ad-Aware or Spybot).

Yes, Don't open it, it's a waist of time. I have gotten ones like this, and they end up being deleted by my virus checker.

If it were my guess they just copied the information off of the CIA's website because the phone number is from the District of Columbia when I did a reverse phone lookup on it.
