I am looking to you my company, by buying another established company. I've found this company, but it seems to good to be true.

1) Website not on google at all
2) "Making money" but unsure how many customers, since half are not on billing system?
3) Selling via paypal subscriptions to email paypal@thiscompany.com with reputation of 40, but on clicking the reputation, you find the email is a sub-email within paypal of another comapany, with no established website.
4) Selling for very little (under £100)
5) "Award Winning Company" - on enquiring got responce, It got some award that was from a hosting guide ( can't remeber the name).
6) Server appears to be genuine, signed up and account created and works.
7) Copyright at base of page, indicated its part of another company, which after doin some research, I found its a UK registered company, registered 30-07-2004 and has never filled any accounts

Possibly.

Surely you are not going to buy a business without doing due diligence on them and involving lawyers?

Or are you just buying the goodwill (the customers)?

If you ar ejust buying the customers then as long as the customers are real and they actually transfer the data to you, you will be OK.

Not worth getting the lawyers in with "Selling for very little (under £100)"

I agree with him 100%!

If the business brings in less than £100, why would you want to take the risk?

Moreover, is this a big investment from your part?

If I were you, I would just start off from scratch because the business is not even advertised well. I would rather create something new and develop it instead of building something that does not have the foundations. :splat:

Than again, I do not know exactly your situation so I might be very wrong. Pardon me! :tux:

I would choose to start from scratch. £100 can buy you some advertise dollar which can convert to real clients if you do it properly.
