Do you have any ideas about the factors that google take into account for its Page Rank?
Links, Keywords, anything else?
How about other search engines?

I'll add a little something more to this thread, also...

The quality of your incoming links matters just as much as the amount itself. For instance, links to you need to have a few traits:

1. They must come from a website that is relevant - in other words, this website should share many of your very own keywords.
2. The link must contain your keywords itself. For instance, if you are running a website hosting company (and I'll use our's as an example), the link 'iZoka Web Hosting' will be counted for much more than 'iZoka'.
3. Link-swapping HURTS your PageRank score, and does not help! The same goes for link farms, and any other method whereby you place a large number of outgoing links that mean nothing to your business. A few outgoing links to highly-related sites (that contain your keywords) can actually help your PageRank. The bottom line is, use outgoing links wisely, and remember that incoming links will always be worth more.

I could go on and on, of course, but those three just sort of popped into my head as I was reading this thread again, so I thought I'd share them. :)

Better to just forget PageRank and just get on with marketing. :)

Agreed. I think pageranks are almost meaningless nowadays, and worrying how they should be improved is a waste of time.

After reading that I was just thinking about how some people buy domains just for their supposed Google PageRank value even if the content or other factors that got it there no longer exist. It's just a huge waste of time and money in my opinion.

I've never figured out if pagerank really makes a difference..... it looks good and all that but it doesn't even affect your listing on google.
