View Full Version : I'm a newb with pcs ... anyone willing to help ?
My aunt's computer monitor is showing irrational and jumbled characters that kept running across the screen non-stop. She cannot take control over the computer.
What should i do to help my aunt solve the problem, what's causing it and what should she do to prevent it from happening again ?
Thanks for all the help again ..

Whew, trouble shooting this one.... well, I've never had that exactly.
I generally go over, reformat the computer, install anti-virus and anti-spyware programs, update everything, and then tell them never to call me again, heh.

I think that by now he has fixed the issue, he was asking this about one month ago.

You aren't taking account the laggers, heh. I still have a PC that is giving me trouble months later. I suppose it would help if I posted the problem (would that be too easy?) though I think it's the mobo (and it's a laptop so I'm not sure if it's something I can fix).

I would bet my life on Windows XP. AND I would bet my life that's there's a lots of spywares in it.
I would do the same thing as Chicken. Just format it. Put antivirus on it. Say no to norton btw
Yes i would reformat and then install a good antivirus like norton to make sure i dot get it back.

It would be useful if you could give us more details.

08-14-05, 02:01 PM Hopefully this issue is still not a problem nearly a year later. ;) On the other hand, I have had those lingering problems that just don't seem to go away.

Since the original poster hasn't visited HHO since last August (about when this was posted) I would assume this is resolved. Either way, if the problem still exists a new thread can be opened. ;)
