View Full Version : any one heard of wholesalecolo?
I am planning on colocating a 1u rack server and have been looking around for different colocation facilities and even though their DC is in Florida and I am in Michigan, their prices seem to make up for the distance. I am wondering if any of you guys have colo'd with them before and could let me know of your experiences good or bad. They are webhosting.net company.
thx,
indica

indica,
You may want to do a serach on webhostingtalk.com
Wholesalecolo went out of business without any warning almost a year ago, and webhosting.net took over the domain name.
If you are in Michigan, you may want to contact Tina at AffordableHOST (http://www.affordablehost.com/). They offer colocation services and are located in Michigan. The only caveat is, I do not know that their data center is also in Michigan.

It is -- http://www.pathwaynet.com
(Unless they've changed DC's since January, in that case I don't know either.)
Indica,
I currently have a colo server in the Florida DC of Webhosting.net, I was a victim of the disappearance of wholsalecolo though I will say the box was not even down a full day.
I have had the box in the DC for about a year and service has been good. If you need remote hands or require and "help" I'm sure there are better places to be. If you want cheap space and BW these guys are a good deal.
Good Luck

I'm use webhosting.net as well. I was a refugee from NetFree and they helped out. I would say not bad. Not the cheapest, but they get the job done. I paid $75 for the priveledge of having someone at my server's terminal the other day. But he was there within 20 minutes and even fixed a couple extra problems on the server.
Overall, I like my provider in Chicago better, but if you're looking in the area, or are taking them up on the cheap offer, they're worth it.
