Hi guys,

I rolled out our new Ensim PRO theme last month, customers kinda like it - I would love your opinion and ideas...

You can view it here: http://demo.unitedhosting.co.uk

Thanks!

Very nice, but does the ensim cp always have to be in frames.

Very nice. I like the smooth transition of the side menu. Everything's right there where you need it most. Nice job.

The ensim pages are all generated dynamically from python I think... at least, they dont exist anywhere on the server, so they need to be in a main frame.

I think I could make a frameless one with some clever PHP... if only I was good at PHP :)

Looks nice there Matt. I'm actually surprised how good it looks, as I've never even seen Ensim. That ain't bad at all...

Remember it is Ensim PRO not Ensim :)

Ensim themselves made a lot of improvements between the two versions. Although the ensim PRO original skin was made by 2advanced, it was the worst work I have ever seen them do!

Wow, that is very professional looking - almost makes me want to switch to Ensim PRO... :) Very good job, I'm sure your customers will love it!

You may want to darken the text in the left:
------------------------Quick Navigation

Took me awhile to read :)

It's more intuitive and makes access to options easier for the average "hosting" joe :D

You'd be surprised how many people initiate a TT because they don't want to click on that "services" link from the navigation bar.

Good work Wallis :pimp:

Looks great, but if you cant use crafty PHP, i'd suggest you jsut get rid of the left frame completely and use jsut a header and cnotent frame as everything in the left frame is in the main area anyway!

You might be able to get the page parse out a few tags and make it frame less. It would improve the look. I am used to Cpanel, looks similar but I like the drop down menus.
How long did it take to make ?

The problem with removing the frame is that you then lose the ability to go to other sections of the control panel after you've made a choice with any given option. For example, if you select the option for Subdomains, you won't have that frame to then go to File Manager or any other option without going back to the main page and selecting that feature. It may seem small but that could be what some people are looking for.

I'm with a host that also uses Ensim Pro and I love it. They don't have the same design of course but even the generic 2advanced design is nice and with that frame I've been able to navigate back and forth wherever I want with ease. :)

I like the functionality, but if the frame was something you really wanted to get rid of, there are scripts I have use that remember the drop down menus so you click on a subsection and the new window would open with the submenu expanded correctly.

I have not really looked into creating customer skins for ensim / cpanel or plesk. If you have some link or how to that would be great.

Nice job.

I want to keep the frame because I believe in easy navigation.

Always having a choice of "where to go next" is important in a control panel.

Is Ensim a complete reseller package that provides this control panel or is it just a control panel?

Being in the UK, i've never heard of Ensim - but it looks fantastic!

Good work guys.

Look up webppliance pro at www.ensim.com

It has 4 panels. Server admin, resellers, site admin and user admin.

We have a reseller demo here:

I agree that navigation is very important. People are very impatient and will clickly click the close window button if they don't find what they want quickly.

I must admit that does look really nice. Good job on it Matt. How about some onmouseover changes on the left hand menu? Just text ones. I feel like that left side is letting the design down a little.. but thats maybe just me :)

If I was anygood at dhtml I would improve the menu... took me long enough just to get that menu working. :(

I think that the navbar is fine, although I do agree that an onmouseover effect would make it that much better.

Well, as said - thats the only thing I could really fault it on. Its clean, good to look at and easy to navigate. Thumbs up

(sorry I can't seem to find a thumbs up smile!) :)
