hi,
I am planning to run an online store soon which will accept payment via cc. My company will be located in MY.
Do I need an internet merchant account to transfer the money over to my bank in MY ? or I can just sign up for a payment gateway and provide them my bank account info in MY and request them to transfer the money over once there are any ?
I tried contacted CDGCommerce and they only provide services for US clients. What other alternative do I have ?

You would need a merchant account and a payment gateway. Check the answer at WHT.

It depends on where you are located. Some US processors can support you if you have some US presence (Bank account, address, phone number). You might also check out Worldpay as well depending on your volume or 2CO. Consider Paypal in conjunction with what you choose

I use 2checkout for international orders and so far so good. The best of all is that 2checkout can handle a lot of languages not just English, and for me that is vital.

concerning 2checkout when release level is reached should they automatically send the funds, we are awaiting a response from them as to why our funds havent been released having been over the level we set for almost a month.
I think 2checkout/paypal mightbe good option to go with. If you are targeting to EU countries ********* can provide you good solution.

I use 2checkout and paypal for both my companies and am happy to say I have never had a problem in receiving funds with neither company although paypal is offtern used by fraudulent credit card holders which I am happy to say 2checkout sort out fine as they process each sale and send you a email within 24-48 hrs, you can also block any countried you want to so if you find out what the countries the fraudulent users are coming from you can simply block it. :)
I hope that helps good luck in your search for a quality payment system.
thanks

After our recent farse of over a month waiting for funds to be released I would be wary if your customer base are awake outside of usa working hours as it seems to take them forever to do a verification procedure that they dont mention on signup.
Paypal so far we have had zero fraudulent payments and it has been outstanding, we are considering using their new cc gateway where user's dont need to signup to paypal to make payment.

We didn't have any issues getting our initial release and verification from 2CO. We rang them. They asked us one or two simple questions. End of story.
Payment by cheque, however, was not the best way of getting monies. We opted for wire transfer instead and it worked out quite well

they used a different procedure with you then, we was already verified and the procedure wasnt verifying us but they wanted to undermine us by ringing up our customers to check if they had recieved and are happy with their service, this is after several months of taking payments. We also are using wire transfer, what annoyed us was (a) individual verification is already done on each transaction so in affect its a double verification (b) most transactions were repeated each month from the same card hardly the behaviour of a fraudster (c) they was undermining us by directly contacting our customers and (d) this dragged on for many weeks without any communication initiated from themselves.
This has now been dealt with and we apperently dont need to go through this again but it has lead to us to look at other options now.
