Backup Three Computers

If I have three computers with a USB connection, is there any way I can purchase an external hard drive and automatically backup the three computers to that one large drive on a regular basis?

Do they comunicate with each other? File Sharing? if so just make a share on the computer that has the USB Disck on it and use the network to copy the files.

If not, just plug it in the computer that you whant to backup and copy the files.
