I have a personal blog created using blogger.com (owned by Google).
I don't use their free hosting, I upload to my own server.

When I checked the logs google had not been to my site this month, BUT some of this months blog articles were in the Google index (remember this is the 6th of the month).
So, my theory is they are crawling them within their own database and not from the live www.

Blog pages tend to do quite well in search engines anyway because the page titles and h1 tags are quite sympathetic, but I wonder if Google are giving added weight or faster listings to blogs done through thier blogger.com service?

Well it would certainly stand to reason that google would want its own services to have an edge over everyone else lmo

Thats what I think too, and I can't see any way those pages could have been listed without being visited by Googlebot unless they were getting special treatment and indexed directly from the blogger database.

Interesting suppositions here. AFAIK Google's always been tooting the fairness of the normal search rankings (that the same algo is applied for all pages). But I'm not a Google fan, so I can agree to opposite conclusions. :)
