How important is a ticketing system for a domain reseller. How often do you all have problems with your domain resellers/registrars and does normal e-mail suffice when you do?

It can't hurt. You could always use something free such as perldesk.

I prob. get one question/problem a month.

Any system that gives the client feedback is prob. worth installing (like perldesk, rt or someother free system). Most clients really like the fact that when they submit a problem or request that the get something back that says it was recieved.

How many times have you gotten the "we never got the email".

One of my favorite register, directnic, uses a support desk. I think it works great and would recommend adding one.

interactive,

I beleive allan was referring to setting up a ticketing system if hosts are reselling domains.

Actually, he had it right -- I am interested in a ticketing system for someone just reselling domain names....no hosting involved.

Actually, not a bad idea. I don't know is it's a needed service, but it could be a somewhat comforting feature for newbies registering their first domain name.

I think it is a good idea to have one that works with a searchable knowledge base. Then you can have all them questions that get asked automatically entered in your knowledge base and save yourself some time answering support questions. And also save your customers the time of having to ask scince most of the time their question would already be answered.
