Hello...

I am researching knowledgebase software to implement into the our site and came across these two which seem nice :

Pineapple Technologies : http://www.pineappletechnologies.com/kb/

FAQ Manager Pro : http://www.faq-manager-pro.com/

would anyone know of any others?

thanks!

I am sure you can find many on hostscripts.com, however I recommend using Pineapple Technologies. They have a great product.

Hey Equivity

thanks for the feedback... yes, I am leaning towards pineapple

is that what you use?

I was using it, however I decided to go with the built in knowledgebase that my support desk offers. There are many days I wish I had not...

part of me really wants to do an "all-in-one" but I am worried that if one part fails them I am stuck... Kayako makes it very appealing

We use www.helpexec.com for a few different websites and it is very good software.

Well supported, and the author is the same person who is programming the www.phpaudit.com and www.whmautopilot.com software.

Another vote for HelpExec. Good program, support, price and it's early in it's career; watch out for it...

the perldesk(http://www.perldesk.com) support desk also has a knowledge base thats quite appealing. You might want to give their demo a shot.

We use (Well we would use if my host could get off his *cough*) Cerberus located at http://www.cerberusweb.com

It's actually a help desk package with a decent Knowledge base built in. The thing I like about it is you can pipe email from multiple accounts and domains into it's feed.

As to the KB, it allows for unlimited subjects and catagories, allows images within the articles, and does searching.

Hope this helps,

I liked the pineapple one, but what turned me off is no way to get at the pricing or order, best I found was a form to email them, which is fine if I have questions but when I just want to buy something I don't like having to jump through hoops to get it.

Kayako is also fairly decent for that.

But I'd have to agree with Mike on this one, the cerberus one is nice and I've been considering installing it just to use it's KB system ever since I installed it for a client and had some time to play with it.

Admin GUI is still ugly as anything but it works well and the frontend client GUI is rather nice to look at.

KnowledgeBuilder from ActiveCampaign is quite good. Their SupportTrio software is nice as well and has this product essentially embedded within.

I'd give it a shot if you haven't already since they have a 30-day trial period.

As we use Kayako, It has a intergrated knowledgebase which works pretty well, as most users probaly check it before submitting a ticket.
Ive seen a few good FAQ scripts too but alot would require skinning to fit in with your site.

!I love Lore and its one of the best systems out there, the only thing I hate is their total lack of customer response and support, they don't even update it anymore. Example, I emailed them a month ago twice to buy another license and still haven't gotten a damn response.

I customize and use it as a CMS for several sites like resellerguide.com and webhostinghq.com, its also used on emuhq.com which currently has 1000 articles and 5k visitors a day so its a very robust piece of software that doesn't cause mysql or cpu spikes.

thats the main reason we went with active campaing. Support is great and they are very helpful.

The new KB version software is brilliant - so I doubly reccommend them since my last post :-)

If you're looking for something simple, you can checkout http://www.LessonsLearnedServer.com

They have one product (which is LessonsLearnedServer) which acts as a generic simple knowledgebase. Their main advantage is the powerful search facility and the ability to scale with large amounts of data.

Other than that, it is suitable for closed groups of people where security is an issue.
