I received this email from a client of mine after one of his users couldn't access his site. He had made my aware of the issue before, however I always thought that the ISP's just hadn't downloaded the new DNS. But now Netzero finally came through with why they can't get the new DNS settings. Anyway, does anyone know how to correct the issue, or anything? Here's the email;

Dear Netzero member,

Thanks for taking the time to write to NetZero e-mail support.

Regarding the problem you are facing, please note that you will have to contact the domain authorities of www.knowyournews.com.

You can let them know that there is a problem with the way the domain owner recently transferred the domain name from ns{1,2}.featuredns.com to ns{3,4}.innovativehost.net. The old name servers are still returning authoritative data for the domain name, but this does not match what the new name servers are returning. This is keeping the NetZero name servers from seeing the new information.

They will need to remove the authoritative data on the old name servers, and/or update it to reflect the correct name server names.

If you have any further questions, feel free to reply to this message and either myself or another support agent will try to help you.

Thanks for using Netzero!

Sincerely,

Amy Sanders

I guess what they are saying is that no one ever removed the entries off the old name server (ns{1,2}.featuredns.com), and this is causing a problem (though I'd think that as every ISP updates, this wopuldn't really be an issue).

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, because I don't really see why featureprice still having the domain listed as hosted with them would really be an issue. Because like 80% of the ISP's seem to be fine with it (all 5 that I use), just a few like Blue Yonder, and Netzero.

Who knows though.

I bet if you query NetZero's caching servers you will find that they still think featureprice is authortitative (maybe the TTL has not lapsed on their caching servers) for the domain.
