Hello!

Today we got an order we may not decide it is fraudulent or not.

1. Customer signed with the IP of EV1 network;

2. Customer used USA address & credit card which passed CVV & AVS verifications and paid for one month only;

3. Customer used yahoo.com email with CUSTOMERLOGIN@yahoo.com, but his domain requested additionally holds CUSTOMERLOGIN@anotherdomain

3. However while customer's domain holds his both emails as above - it has a Nigerian address. While we have a lot of customers from Asia - it confused me.

May anyone share their thoughts? The big concern is the IP from EV1... Looks like a proxied server for me.

Thank you for the input.

P.S. If we decide order was fraudulent, should we just refund the sale and feel yourself safe? (we do use Linkpoint gateway via Cardservice).

Have you tried calling the phone number on the order? The Nigeria part does sound a bit fishy with the CC in the states.

To avoid any confusion, I'd reject the order now. We certainly avoid Nigerian orders as it is one of the countries that has a significantly higher than average fraud rate. The biggest tip off for you is that it came from an EV1 server. This certainly sounds like a proxy and an illegitimate order.

Secondly, even though a large **** of our clients use free email addresses, we still voice verify them. If this is an option do this. But this definately looks and smells like a bag of fraud to me.

Thank you all for your answer.

Issue resolved by contacting the person.
His wife used her card and we verified that order is legit.

Calling by phone is a nice in such a cases.
