I'm looking for a free, open-source helpdesk solution. I'll use this for my website hosting&design needs to facilitate communication with my clients. If there are any timing/billing add-ons, that'd be nice too.

Thanks,

Cereberus is the most inclusive open source helpdesk that I know of :)

I found it at www.cerberusweb.com, but it is not a free, open-source solution. They want $100/year (unlimited domains).

Any suggestions for free solutions?

Thanks,

We're currently looking at oneorzero.com's solution. Just about everything I would expect in a helpdesk is included :)

I saw the oneorzero.com solution as well today. When I use it, it seems to allow anyone to submit a trouble ticket (no login screen). Do you know if I've gotten it right?

I'm checking out http://hotopentickets.sourceforge.net as well. It does have a login, but it's not that pretty, and has only rudimentary time tracking.

Thanks!

Try Support Logic. I used it for quite sometime before switching to Kayako. I'd recommend it. www.support-logic.com.

Thanks Moni-Q. I tried www.support-logic.com and happily agree that it is better than any other solution I've looked at so far. It has a clean interface, supports CSS (though it does not easily support multiple templates), has 3 levels of control: admin (for configuration), staff (those people responding to helpdesk tickets), and user (the end customer).

Thanks again for the great suggestion!

By any chance do you know of an equally-good free, open-source billing solution? ;)

Enjoy,

If you want a helpdesk and billing solution, you might consider phpcoin.
