So it must be me, huh? I just tried again. I get the above error message when I try to read a topic, but if I do a Refresh, then the topic comes up. However, I can't post at all because I get the above error message each time. I'm not having this problem with any other forum that I'm visiting today, though.
Look at the bright side, the better forum is working.
They have been having ongoing problems with their DB, so it may be related to that. Best bet is to mail moderators@webhostingtalk.com and ask.
Seems like browser problem.
I haven't been able to get there for days (not that that is a bad thing!) I can not even get the page to load, server not found.

I did a trace from several sites in Canada (where I am) only one went through.. I just posted that one from Terabyte since it was the last one I did.
Karen
I've been trying to post a reply there all weekend and keep getting a time out.

I've had problems there lately as well. Forum index page loads up fine, but if I can get to a forum, that's another thing. 2 out of 10 times I can. Sometimes it just seems clogged. If it was like it is currently, when I was modding there, I would have gone crazy.
Apparently my IP address has been banned. A bit pointless as it's a dial up IP and I must be sharing it with half the country. Never mind... :)

They've been having problems with their database all day today.

WHT is temporarily down for emergency database maintenance.Heh.
With all due respect to Webdev or whoever is in charge of server management, I think he could use a hand (or three...) tweaking that database.
I visit a forum with over 3 million posts and generally about 1000 users online at all times and it runs smoothly without a hiccup on a single Dual Xeon machine, not five (six? I can't keep track.)
I keep getting this message when I try to click on anything.
Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Too many connections in /usr/whtalk/www/admin/db_mysql.php on line 40
