Where should I advertise?

Where should I advertise, I plan on doing a bunch of advertising over the next few months, anyone recommend any good places I should try out?

Let me know good spots for web hosting and irc hosting advertising places

Are you targeting a certain group of clients? Before you spend money on advertising you should define a target group and then look for the best advertising opportunities. Local advertising targeting small businesses has worked for me in some cases. Advertising rates in local newspapers can be more affordable.

Hey there, i would suggest if you are thinking about buying impressions on forums/websites to buy at least 50,000-100,000 impressions.

Ask yourself a few questions before you purchase, how often do you click a banner the first time you see it? I bet you don't. It really isn't worth paying for 10,000 impressions as the ctr won't be that great. :)

Banner/Button on large forum would be the best idea to start.. ;)

I'd recommend placing ads with Google. They make it easy to set up a per-click account for short money and see how it goes.
Also, on your site, you can back-link to Google using their Adsense program.

If I were you, I would first do research on your competitors and see where they spend their money on. How do they spend etc etc. Then first do a plan and monitor where the ad money is going. How well is ROI etc. And then start a full flesh ad.

Or ofcourse, you can hire a marketing firm to do all that for you. :)

I would advise against banner ads unless you have really big budget and you can pay for banners over extended period of time. I would say go for Adwords and Overture.
