First of all, let me apologize for the seeming stupidity of this question. I think I know the answer, but I would like to hear the thoughts of others.
If a server company advertised a special as follows, how many physical (not logical) processors would you expect to be in the server?
DUAL Intel XEON 2.8GHz(800 HT)
Thank you in advance for any responses.

Hyperthread is inside the processor itself.
Dual = 2
So there are 2 Processors

My thoughts exactly. I told you it was a dumb question. ;)
Right now I'm arguing with the company I ordered that server from; they claim that the above statement means two LOGICAL processors, not two PHYSICAL processors. On top of that, the special included a 120GB hard drive - but no, I got an 80GB drive.
Thanks for the reply!

Yea, the above statement tells me 4 virtual cpus and 2 physically there.

Yeah, Dual Xeons is 2 physical CPU's and hyperthreading is logical. They completely mislead and either they don't know what hyperthreading is, or they know and hope to screw over customers. They should have stated it was a server with one Xeon with HT tech, or something like that.

If there piddling over that, and don't know the basic specifications of their own servers, I would take this as a hint to find another host lol.

DUAL Intel XEON 2.8GHz(800 HT) = 2 physical cpu which shows as four virtual cpu's in Cpanel
Intel XEON 2.8GHz(800 HT) = 1 physical cpu which shows as 2 virtual cpu's in Cpanel
Price difference = mucho $$
I would look to a different server reseller if I were you, even if they eventually sort it out - what sort of support / commitment from them can you realistically expect after such an argument?
