I was using 2co for processing of credit cards but they only release funds on the 1st and 15th of every month. Which is not entirely good. What would you guys reccomend besides paypal to be able to get the money quickly or somewhere that gives a card linked to it that can access the funds

Do you currently process enough per month to justify a merchant account? If so, that's probably what you're looking for, and won't be entirely satisfied with any other method otherwise.

If you are in the United States, and selling over $1,000 a month, a merchant account might be better for you. If you are selling over $1,000 a week though, 2CO will consider depositing money in your account on a weekly basis: http://www.2checkout.com/overview.htm#5

Using that method above for an average ticket of $50 with 80 transactions, you are looking at paying 2CO about $256. For a United States Merchant account, you are looking at about $150.00

OMG I was floored when I seen their rates. :soapbox: I don't know if you were suggesting [snip] as a possible merchant provider or as a "LOOK what you could be paying" deal. This is a merchant provider you would of seen back in the 90's... 9.75% intrest, $600 setup fee, $0.65 fee per transaction, and a $50/mo "management monthly fee" :yuck: ... A decent provider will charge way less intrest (I've seen 'em as low as 1 to 4%), hardly any setup fees.. and I've seen $10/mo gateway fees VS the $50 gateway fee with [snip]. Research a little, don't fall trapped into paying more than it's worth

What do some people have against PayPal?

What do some people have against PayPal?These people seem to have some reasons:
http://www.paypalsucks.com

Though, I have never had any major issues with them. I religiously transfer funds out at the beginning of every month.

Well it is like with any processor. They are handling your money. And most people cannot remember the 45 days of great service, no problems. They remember that 46th day when the service was down or you got a chargeback or you did not get your money on that day. And the bigger the company gets - the more customers it serves. And then of course this will increase its chances of getting complaints.

Most of Paypal's complaints are just due to not reading their TOS and AUP.

Most of Paypal's complaints are just due to not reading their TOS and AUP.I'm not particularly anti-PayPal. I don't think they have much in the way of seller-protection, but I just accept their reversals, pay the fee, and move on. I think many of the claims on that site are sensational, but it is another view nonetheless.

Paypal is a non starter as a primary payment method.
Here is why I can be so sure:

When our payment processor was down for 24 hours due to a DDOS attack I switched our systems so all sales were forced through Paypal.
As we have a business type account they can just enter their card number and make the sale.

Sales dropped to less than 50% of average that day.

Therefore, it appears that customers are less likely to pay via paypal than with a credit card.

PayPal causes problems. 2checkout is good, but its expensive and only transfers the 1st + 15th.

I havn't tried authorize.net but I might have to go that route :dchick:

Just keep in mind that authorizenet.com is not a MAP, it is only an electronic payment gateway. You still need a merchant account as well
