View Full Version : HHO Ad Policy (I didnt want to touch the other one)
Hello!
With time Im sure there will be ads, but I have a pretty simple question. Will those who wish to advertise be screened? Will they have to have a solid reputation? Its a pretty basic question, but I think an essential one. Whatever means you use to screen them would be your call, but I think there definitely needs to be some sort of screen process.
Just thought I would throw that out there, the other post got me thinking, but I didnt want to get in the middle of their discussion.

They will be screened to some extent. Of course I'm not going to let ScamHost advertise but my aim is less to attempt to pre-judge anyone before the fact, and more to be active in disputes that arise. In other words, aside from ScamHost (well known for scamming people), if we get complaints from customers, ad gets pulled and most likely won't be put up again until things are resolved.
I'm looking for quality companies and individuals who provide a solid product or service, and I'll stand behind the advertisers whose ads appear. Those with complaints won't be appearing. I think that's what you're asking (???)

Starting in a few days to a week-ish (I just now have some extra time), and no, not quite yet.

ScamHost.com is now registered (I checked just for the fun of it, and it was taken.)
ok - serious part now: As for advertisers, will you be limiting to "hosting only" or a broader "hosting related" ? Will you allow those solid products or services to be value added services? Examples are Insurance providers, business planning, various consulting services.

re: ScamHost :D I was just making that up, but...
I don't see why hosting related wouldn't be appropriate. Really anyone who wants to advertise their product to members would be appropriate. If Cocacola feels that hosts are thirsty and wants to set up a 3-year multimillion dollar advertising deal on HHO, then we change the forum colors to red ;) :D
For the most part (as in 99.9%), copmpanies and individuals are on the level. I don't see a problem, until there's a problem, then we'll deal with it.

I thought so. The name was recently set up I do believe. Could be interesting as to how they intend to use it.
Good deal on the ad choice (and when the colors change, you get to retire? :D )
I'll have to compare your ad rates. I like the community here. Being able to spend my ad $$ at a site that is designed to help me and others build stronger businesses, is good for all of us.
