Umm..no, of course not. There are only two forums on the Internet dedicated to hosting -- and this is one of them. Ignore those forums behind the curtain (a Wizard of Oz reference for you guys :D)

The mods actually ban based on number of posts. In the super-secret mod hideout (where we have the 52" plasma television, surround sound system, and the good alcohol) we like to play a game called "Ban that Spammer".

It based on the old gameshow "Name that Tune", but instead of the number of notes it takes to name a tune, we all bid on how quickly we can ban a spammer:

"Chicken, I can ban that spammer in 2 posts"

And, of course, Chicken hands out fabulous cash prizes to the mod that bans a spammer in the fewest posts :D.

Hmm...oh wait, sorry I was just dreaming for a second :D.

You also shouldn't leave your social security number in the box in the safe behind the secret panel that you have to pull the torch down to open where anyone can find it -- and use it to get credit in a wide variety of places :).

It is amazing the amount of credit they will give to someone on a teacher's salary :D.

Reminds me how everyone is always surprised when an armored car driver (making what $10/hr.) takes off with the truck full of dough. What's surprising is that it doesn't happen more often.

You'd have to pay me much more than $10/hr. to drive around a truck with hundreds of thousands+ in it... and bring it back.

I never thought about that -- sheesh, I wonder if the local armored car company is hiring.

$10.00/hour... that's really cute, here they make $7.00/hour, and a rent-a-cop makes $5.50. Imagine all the benefits though, a strong possibility of getting shot, the benefit of knowing every single bank manager/store manager you drive up to makes well over 3 times what you do.

All in a days work

Chicken
02-17-03, 01:36 PM
Yeah, that doesn't make much sense either. You'd also have to pay me much more than $5.50/hr. to guard your many thousands+ worth of merchandise. Security guards, cops, armed forces, etc. aren't paid enough. Neither are teachers! :D

At least we don't have to deal with people shooting at us... most of the time.

Well, in my short teaching career, we've had 2 lockdowns for armed fugitives either near or on campus. No student shootings (yet), and I don't think there are many cases where elementary kids have brought guns to school (there have been a few that I know of).
