View Full Version : How to promote my site
Hello! I'm currently working on this site : www.kenokozie.com. Can you give me some marketing strategy to promote my site? Thanks in advance ;)
I think that post was a very good start. :D
You should post more, be an active member in a few forums.

First, you have a nice-looking site.
A couple of things just out at me though. When I checked your Google back links it only lists 6. More back links will be most helpful in getting more traffic to your site. Posting in forums is one way with your URL in your signature. Also submitting your site to general directories is another way.
If you feel that you can compromise the design on your homepage a bit, then adding some text will help the search engines know what your site is about.
hey! what tool did you used in checking for google back links???
"link:http://www.yourdomain.com" in Google
Note that Google no longer reports all the pages that link to a specific page. Why, which, how many, no one outside Google knows for sure.
You can install Google Toolbar and explore it's possibilities (Backward links). You might find it useful.

Remember that content is king. Adding more of this will help your search engine rankings.

Yes, I'm also a believer in content is king (though some make the argument that back links are king). Content is king especially for the homepage, which you want optimized for your main keywords.
You can also use this link checker to check for back links on MSN, AltaVista and AlltheWeb:http://www.linkpopularitycheck.com/
Greetings!
Thank you very much for your post.
When it comes to promotion, you will need to have a budget. But, the first thing you need to consider is to really identify your target audience. Who are they? What age range? What do they usually do? What topics interest them? etc.
Then, design a campaign that will entice your target audience. Focus your campaign on the benefits your target audience will get out of your website. Have a way to measure the effectiveness of your campaign. You may launch one campaign at a time to keep track of the performance. And after a series of trials, you will be able to find out which one works for you. And when you do, concentrate on that type of campaign.
It helps to post on several fora like this one. It also helps to optimize your site for search engine by analyzing your site contents. Look for sites that may be complementary to your services and link with them.
And one important thing, don't forget to say thank you to all those involved in making your site popular.
Good luck and God bless!
:)

Not true :)

Very true :)
There are hundreds of books and research articles on how to promote your site on the web. But unfortunately there is non win-win formula. It's a long yet rewarding process.

How long has your site been online?
How many unique visitors do you have daily?
Have you used any kind of promotion?
It's great that you are already shmoozing online. It's one of the steps you take if your budget is tight. If your budget allows, get professional help. You can imagine how much there is to learn about web business and promotion. I belive that future is online and learning about online marketing is the must for every business owner. Face it - you are competing with those that are online and your customers ask you "Do you have a website where I can learn more about your business?" Learn enough to run your own site or learn enough to understand why to get professional help.
Here is the book that I highly recommend:
Internet Marketing
by Barbara Cox, William Koelzer
ISBN: 0130336289
Good luck with your website venture!

First, ask who do you want to promote your site TO? Then, develop a strategy around those visitors who would want to purchase your products or services. It is a waste of valuable time, money, and resources to promote your site to those who are not interested in what you offer.
You can get thousands to visit your web site every week. But, if no one is interested in buying, what good is it doing your business?

You could write some articles about your sites topic and include your sites link in your authors resource box. Writing articles is a good way of receiving some backlinks.

You should also put articles in the free articles submission sites such as ezinearticles.com. You can also place press releases online to free press releases site such as openpress.com.

Well adwords can be very expensive as it is charging you for each and every click
You would need to be very smart on the keywords you choose.
Good luck

find out who it is your targeting and then send simple info to them, maybe in the form of postcards to local businesses letting them know who you are, where you are and what you do, don't give too much away though, make them want to call you, you can get very good results from this, also put a lot of thought into the design and layout of anything you send to anyone, a company image is very important.

To promote http://lifeoncampus.com/ i would recommend word of mouth firstly, i am taking that you share the same intrest / status as your target audience. tell friends about it, friends will tell friends ect ect. secoundly google around for similar sites to yours and become part of those communitys, post your link in signatures ect. Also make sure to have unique harty content for your audience. if you do all that im sure you will increase hits.
Thank you very much, i got lots of idea how to promote my site now.

I agree Forum is a good way to promote your site to get traiffic but sometimes there will be alot of traffic per day but not a single sales...
As for me the best way to promote a site either its business or personal is to family and friends... The word of mouths still plays a big role in our product marketing ...
Im sure you have lots of friends and family members... Just like MLM companies they required you to spread their product to someone you know first..Then that someone will help you promote your product to their friends.... The network starts building up....
My advice is there are lots of MLM Companies conducting a free marketing trainning for their product... This free course is very valueable... After learning how to sell those mlm product why not you try and sell your own product or hosting using their method:sun:
I can assure you this will work ..This is how i start my hosting business around my region

Try adsense script inside your webpage, and google indexes the page. Or try adwords.
