we have several XP2400 servers and they are working great. I prefer XP2400 than Celeron
Like I have said before in the past, you cannot compare AMD to intel like that. AMD has a lower clock speed but can take more load, and handle the system better. Intel is known for speed, that's about it.
The XP all the way!
AMD manages its cache better than most Intel boards.
Defintetly have to agree with everyone. The AMD machine has a larger cache but does have a slower clock speed. We offer both of these machine and I can tell you that we sell 2 AMD machines to everyone one celeron. The AMD machines flat out perform better.
Please understand this
AXP 2400 = 1.9 - 2.1 (pending on core barton is the best core though =P)
Celeron 2.4 = 2.4GHZ
I would recommend the amd xp, i have one myself and it performs very well. If you are using it for hosting, either would do, but i like amd due to it having larger cache.

I'm going to have to go with the majority of the people in this case.

AMD all the way vs. a Celeron. Now a P4 vs. AMD is much closer.

I have had overheating problems with Athlon processors (only have two servers with them).
Finally ended up with motherboard failures.
Thats only my experience though, it means nothing.
