Ok, I have seen many threads started here about fraudulent orders. Well, here are some ways to prevent fraudulent orders, and have worked well ever since I started doing this.

Customer Order Forms:

If you don't have Automatic Activation, then there is really no reason to even have fraud since you have time to investigate the IP's, and what not. However, here is what you can do.

1. Verify that the IP traces back to the location of the given address.
2.Get a Varilogixs FraudCall account, and make a call to the number listed to confirm the transaction.
3.Send PayPal invoicing.

Easy as 1-2-3!

Using Billing Systems such as WHMAP, MB, Whois.Cart:

1.Get an account with Varilogix FraudCall and intergrate it
2.Check the geographic location of the IP, and the given address and compare with given address
3.Look at the obvious such as domain, and see if it makes since
4.Make call to the phone number to confirm the order via FraudCall.

With the given information above, if you follow them, you will not having any problems with Fraud, I can guarantee it.

We were caught in depth for $400 becuase of fraudulent orders being placed, and had to do something quickyly, so we made a checklist, and ever since, we have not had ONE fraudulent order since we have taken the nessesary steps. Now of course we quickly recovered from the $400 because of backup money, but don't let it happen to you.

Stop fraud before it happens!

Very good information there NetWay, but then again. You have to think of the positive members. People who are serious about it, another thing to add is to add an SSL Certificate, to make the site secure, just my opinion.

Yeah SSL for ordering. We are going to do that once we get CDG Commerce (authorizenet.com) installed tomarrow.

Can't you do something else, if any. Some may be hard for me to do, like how do I trace an IP back to the person, is their like a software or something?

It's included with Varilogix. It gets everything from there phone provider, whether it was a cell phone, it gives the address of the credit card (if you are a merchant), phone book loopups, the distance from the address listed, and the address your ip is traced from. EVERYTHING YOU CAN IMAGINE!

So does Vagilox cost anything for a monthly fee or what?

Well, we got the AFIS system for free, because of the time we ordered in (when they first opened), but now you have to buy AFIS. I can try to get you a deal with the guy who owns it though. For just the FraudCall, it costs $25 for 25 call credits, at the minimum.

So what's going on with Varilogix right now? They don't seem operational...

Should be operational again by the end of this month, as mentioned in one of their client updates recently.

We are still on track for the basic FraudCall release to our clients by the end of this month.

Hi Dustin:

I found maxmind.com for the services you want. I tested them but I can circumvent the system by using proxies on my IE.

I got a recommendation to use ****************.com

I hope you can give me your feedback if you test them out. RIght now, we don't have an anti fraud software...

Thanks, Gary.

What about varilogix?

I've got an account with them now.... Not much time to test results yet.
Does anyone know if their FraudCall service has successfully reduced fraud?
They've got a new service (AFIS 2.0) coming out. Should be interesting.

We've used both FraudGate and VariLogix - with all sorts of international (and legit) customers sign up, we found both not up to the mark when it came to dialing in the middle of the order process. Further, you can expect everybody to be next to a phone when ordering, can you?

Interesting concepts though!
