Hello
I am looking for dedicated servers in Quebec or Ontario.
Tera-Byte don't do what we are looking for (they still seem to prefer raqs or colo, we want conventional leased severs).

I have been in touch with iweb.ca and I cant find any obvious bad feedback anywhere.

Anyone got any experience or views?

Tera-Byte sell dedicated servers other than RAQ's, I know when I left 4webspace to get away from RAQ's I was offered a very good deal by Steve Keyser for a box with Ensim on it. Maybe email Mr, Keyser and see what he can offer you?

I already have servers at tera-byte but they are rather expensive on the hardware side which is why I was considering trying somewhere else.
I have ordered one server from Iweb over the weekend. I will experiment with it when it arrives and see what happens.
I never like having all my eggs in one basket anyway.

I got the server today.
Its running very nicely.
They were very fast at doing the rDNS and another modification for me.
They also provide a remote reboot port so as long as they can keep their connections running I won't normally have any reason to contact them.
I paid for a year in advance to get a discount so hopefully its as good as it looks.
The thing that surprised me was how few Canadian dedicated hosting companies there are.
Many are reselling for each other and even more have servers in the US so getting the genuine article was not easy.

Just curious, why did you require Canadian-located hosting?

Thanks,

Hello
We have had canadian based hosting for a long time actualy but we needed to launch a reseller service there, which gave me the opportunity to look at other providers.

We actually have three brands, US, UK and CA.
Each one bills customers in their own currency and provides hosting on servers in that country.
It tends to be faster if the server is nearer where you are and has better peering to local ISP's.
The Uk difference is huge but the CA/US is less so.
However, there isa demand for hosting in Canada and advertising is cheaper there so it makes sense (at our volume) to offer a tailored service for that market.
