A few years ago, ev1servers (also known as RackShack) launched its $99 dedicated servers. Many believed it wasn't possible, but somehow they pulled through. No doubt, their $99 dedicated servers have effected the hosting market.

Now, I think ev1 is going to affect the hosting market again. Their new VPS plan (http://www.ev1servers.net/english/vps_series.asp) is hard to believe. 256 MB RAM, 20 GB Hard Drive, and 200 GB Monthly Transfer for a mere $39/month! Is it even possible? If we compare this plan to Dinix's VPS 300 (http://www.dinix.com/hosting/virtual010.htm), ev1's deal is nearly half the price of dinix's

I think this will change the entire hosting market (dedicated servers, vps, and shared hosting).

What do you think?

$39 is only an introductory price with that feature set. New plans will roll out a week from Monday that will not be quite so generous.

The pricepoint was basically a reward for those willing to be the first.

Ugh, I missed the special!

It's good to know that the current plan will change, thanks headsurfer! :D
