Hey Everyone,

Everyone computer nerd/enthusiast/geek has a dream configuration, you know the hardware configuration that you can only dream of but either cant afford to buy it or some other reason.

Just wondering if you could list yours, I’ll start with one:

PIV-3.4Ghz, 1 GB DDR RAM, 2 160GB HDD (Seagate 7200 RPM), 21 Inches Flat Panel Monitor, DVD Burner & a CD-Burner, 256 MB Nvidia AGP, 256 MB Detachable Zip Drive, Creative Audigy, 6.1
Surround sound speakers with woofers, Multimedia IR keybrd and Mouse.

Only list configuration that are actually available in the market :)

I bet if you gave everyone a PC with maxed out specs (even though they may not need it), that would be a dream to most people.

What I currently have is more than enough for me. Of course I'd like more but for now, I see no need. Here's my current PC which could pass off as my "dream PC":

- Antec Performance Plus 1080AMG Case
- AMD Athlon XP 2100+ 1.733GHz 266FSB Processor
- ASUS A7V333 Socket A Motherboard
- 512MB OCZ PC2700 DDR333 Memory
- 200GB+ of Hard Drive space
- Plextor PlexWriter 40x12x40 CD-RW Drive
- Plextor PX-504A DVD+R/RW - CD-R/RW Drive
- ViewSonic VX900 19" LCD Display
- Chaintech A-GT61 nVidia GeForce4 Ti4600 128MB DDR AGP Graphics Processor Unit
- Hercules Game Theatre XP Digital Sound Card
- Cambridge SoundWorks DTT2500 DeskTop Theatre 5.1 Digital Speaker System
- Adaptec VideOh! DVD Media Center USB 2.0 Edition

SGI - Silicon Graphics Onyx Reality Engine.
64 - 64bit 2.0GHz processors
200G Ram
1 Petabyte SAN storage solution = 1000TB

Ahhhh, this is easier.

I have worked with several Onyx systems, Octane systems and Reality systems from SGI.

Standard PC:

Quad Xeon 3.0GHz
12G ram
4 x 400G HDD
2 x Hercules quad output video cards
SAN solution for expansion and holding a lot of porn, lol

There you go, we would rock with either system!!

Found these too:

I'd take $4,000 of somebody else's money and get me one wild system. I am not sure what I would have on it but I figure I'd find a way to spend every penny. :-)

Maybe the question should be: What is your dream PC configuration for under $4000?

At least setting a limit will allow people to try to come up with the best configuration under a budget so we don't end up with people configuring some PC with $10,000's of hardware/software for their super gaming machine or something.

oops made a mistake.. i meant only home/office pc configuration not industrial strength monster configurations good enough to fly a plane :P

Just wanted add that at home I have got a:
PIV 2.4 GHz with HT technology,
512 MB DDR RAM,
80 GB HDD (7200 RPM),
Intel Original Motherboard,
128 MB NVIDIA GeForce AGP,
CD-writer, 52X CD-Reader,
Creative Vibra 128, connected my Philips 480 W hi-fi to my PC for speakers,
Wireless multimedia keyboard & mouse :)

Now that does come Up to somewhere near my dream configuration, but yeah there is more that I would like to add to it.
