Hello

Im currently using Outlook. And ever since I installed sp2 it has been nothing but trouble. I have tried many other clients but they just didnt apeal to me. My question to all of you is what email client are you using. Why you like it. Any problems or stability issues. And speed such as checking all pop3 accounts and downloading messages and such. I guess im just looking for an alternative until outlook is fully compatible with sp2. Funny you would think that they would have made sure its compatible with their own products. Any input or suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Use ThunderBird, it's awesome especially with it's Junk Mail controls.

I tried that a week or so ago. I like it alot except for only a few problems. 1 thing is that will only let me have 1 outgoing mail server. I have a bunch of domain names with email addys at all them. 2nd thing that was weird is that I would set it up to check for messages every 5 minutes. And it would only check 1 account it wouldnt check all of them. I really like thunderbird though.

I use Outlook 2003 with SP2 - no problems whatsoever. Whatever problems you are having with MSO I'm sure there's a fix on the Microsoft site? If you still want to move clients, there is a few new threads, one by me, regarding various alternative clients in the Computing Forum (if I remember rightly).

You can set up multiple SMTP servers by clicking "advanced" in the SMTP section. You can then click "advanced" in each profile's server settings to select the SMTP server to use.

Also, mine checks all my accounts at their set intervals. I'm not sure why yours wasn't (I didn't do anything special).

Hope that helps!

Dustin,

I am not sure if it is publicly released as of yet, I got mine from a friend. However I may be wrong, check the Windows Update site out.

Have you tried Mozilla Thunderbird?

I've only used the Linux version, but know people that use the Windows version and really like it. May be worth a look.

I'd recommend to use TheBat. It has awesome anti-spam plugin, plus it has it's own HTML renderer, therefore is 100% prone to any scripting viruses. I've been using it for several years already and never had any problems.

Personally, I recommend using any non ms products whenever possible. Poor coding seems to be the standard over there.
About a year back, I found Pocomail (http://www.pocomail.com) and it's been my default Windows email application since. The filters are great, the email rendering is great. Spam filters are incredibly easy to adjust, it's just a damn good client ;)

I'd second PocoMail. I use PocoMail PE, their go anywhere (put it on a thumbdrive!) mail client. The only possible concern I have is that it may delete emails. I cannot confirm, as I didn't notice the problem until after I copied over some mail files. So it may have been my fault. But it seems sometimes, for some reason, emails seem to just disappear. I think I've read about others on their forum having this problem as well. I would suggest keeping backups until you know for sure.
