Hey everyone,

I'm another junkie that was lurking over at the "other" place (as it seems to be to be referred to as here) and actually googled this site up. I was kind of getting tired of the trash that you had to wade through there.

Anyway...i completed the first design on my site and would love to have it critiqued. Let me know if anything breaks up or is colored wierd. I'd also appreciate feedback on the content and info provided. Be critical. :)

Thanks. :D

Hi

I like your theme with the hop, jump and leap plans. However, as far as layout and design, it seems a bit too plain, the Top right corner in particular. Also the horizontal bar menu could use some sort of highlight, whether in the form of a different color or or other graphics to break from the pale yellow background.

Good luck with your venture.

Looks pretty good. A couple of things I noticed...on your support page, "login to Supprt Desk" just correct the Support mis-spelling. Just a pet-peave of mine, consider adjusting the referrences to your site name from Higher Host.com to just Higher Host. In your network description correct this "duel-blower". ( I am a fan of text over graphics so I like the abundance of text, just want to help you catch the errors).

I assume your service is not "live" yet as your order links point back to the plan page. I like the design, clean and functional. There are a few color contrasts but nothing major.

You may want to add some additional info in your TOS regarding account cancellation (non-violation of AUP) and refund policy and timeframes. I would also include (although this is strictly up to you) some info on your SLA, should you have one.

I hope this helps...good luck and welcome to "the better side".

The boxed graphics you have are nice, but they are broken into 2 pieces on the plan info display part of your main page.

Consider getting it modified so we only see 1 polevaulter instead of 1 polevaulter and 1 head.

Also the background colour could be changed to something that is easier on the eyes.

Just curious, what browser were you using? The vaulter only has one head when I view it...just want to let Placer know in case he needs to optimize it for a certain browser. I used IE and Opera.

Edit: I just used Netscape and it did chop the image there.

Thanks for the comments so far. As far as the top right, I was considering putting a control panel or support certer login directly from there so it could be accessed from each page, but I think that might be a waste of real estate.

There will definately a search option for my knowledge base that i'm working on. Also, I know netscape breaks up the boxes on the right and I'm trying to figure out a way to load NN style sheets over IE specific ones. (You'll notice the sites currently load IE styles sheets in the header).

And yes, the order and support section is still being customized to fit with the Higherhost theme.

I hand't considered the "Higherhost.com" to be too redundant, but if other agree that it is, I'll change it. The biggest thing I was trying to do it here was push branding.

Does anyone have idea on how I can do away with the "flat" feel of the site. I didn't want the site to be very flashy (pun intended) and i'm going for more quality than quantity.

Please keep the suggestions coming. (I was starting to think everyone had something against me. :))

I don't think you will lose any "branding" by removing the .com from the name...most people already know it is .com.

I personally, prefer sites that are not "flashy". As long as your site is clean, visually appealing, and functional, you shouldn't have to dress it up. I cannot stand sites that use an excess of graphics and flash...especially the ones with sound. It still makes me jump going to the mbill site even though I know there is music there.

Good Luck!
