How to increase sales of webhosting packages

I want to see if we can name all the methods to increase sales of webhosting packages out there. Here's a short list so far...

-> Affiliate programm
-> SEO
-> Top plase in brother directory
-> Banner advertising
-> Forum advertising
-> anything else

What do you think, which one are the best?

Promotional offers.

Something like 30% off for the 2nd week of a month, or 50% more bandwidth etc.

How they are displayed is an extreme factor aswell. Make the plans eye-catching. Also, if you have a promotional offer, you should be able to see the ad before anything else.

Turn on your imagination. Do something unconventional. Look for the most unlikely places to advertise in. Form partnerships, etc.

There are too many options out there to list here. Oh yes, and of course keep an open mind.

Spamming millions of peoples email addresses with your packages....I get 2 or 3 emails a day for webhosting heh :D

I'd say SEO has worked pretty well for the places I've seen in the past. Only problem is finding a real SEO expert to help and not some money stealing jerk.

Google Sponsership adverisment is not bad idea.

Meaning? Google adsense? Google will place web hosting ads on your website. Why would you advertise others? It will not make you rich, but it will cost you customers.
