Okay so the Mozilla revolution is here, and we all seem to love Firefox, but what mail client do you use?

I tried thunderbird just now. Personally, I prefer Microsoft Outlook to it.

It's only small things that bug me about it. That constant "Local Folders" thing which I don't even see the point to when using multiple accounts or even a single account.

And also the way it's Ctrl+Return to send a message instead of Alt+S or Ctrl+S.

Any suggestions from you guys as to what you use?

Hint: I love nice GUIs ;)

I prefer MS Outlook 2003.

I too like Microsoft Outlook. As buggy as their software can be, and even with Outlook being a potential security hazard, I haven't found anything better. It works for me and I'm not the type to open unknown e-mails let alone get them since the server is setup properly. ;)

I use the Sylpheed Claws Email Client. It's sort of like Outlook, but a bit more stable. :) I'm on Linux though, so I'm not sure if there's a Windows port for this.

Oh yeah, sorry I forgot to mention. We only have WXP workstations here.

Hmm .. in that case. Security is your best friend :D I recommend trying Pegasus Mail. Very stable and even filters your mail for you.

I like ThunderBird, the local folders thing I use when I read RSS feeds (theres an extension)

its simple and thats how it should be. it has a good search and spam filtering system, and an RSS reader what more could you ask for?

outlook is insecure, I wouldn't use it just because of that. (and I dont see any advantages it has over thunderbird)

theres also evolution if your on a linux box, very nice one.

I installed Thunderbird and had a quick play with it. I think I prefer it to Outlook (which I use now), but I need to find a way of getting AVG's email virus scanner to work with Thunderbird before I switch over.

So all in all, I think Thunderbird is the way forward for me.

P.S: If anyone knows how to get AVG Antivirus working with Thunderbird, please don't hesitate to let me know ;)

I'm sticking to Outlook (and the constant security patching) for now. Purely for GUI reasons :)

I find it easier to just use outlook since it installed with ms office and I don't particuarly want to waste time looking for another if this one works. I have had a few times where it corrupted my data, but I just work around it and file things into smaller piles so it's less impact when it does.

you dont want to waste time since it works, only except when it doesnt and corrupts your data, but luckily you found a way to minimize the damage when it does this. I see.

as for "looking for another" - http://www.mozilla.org/products/thunderbird/

and if your too busy to view the page, then - http://www.mozilla.org/products/thunderbird/download.html?http%3A//ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/releases/0.7.2/ThunderbirdSetup-0.7.2.exe

Ximian Evolution (http://www.novell.com/products/evolution/) is my mail client of choice currently. I tried Mozilla Thunderbird for a while, but checking multiple accounts isn't the easiest, even with the supposed plugin.
