I am looking to purchase some servers so that I could move all of my customers to a data center and leave my host. If any one knows where I could get some good prices and quality servers please let me know. Thanks in Advance.

Well many people would recommend Dell for their quality. However, you can also try colomachine.com and rackmountsetc.com

Good luck!

You could also look into leasing a server at a datacenter (something like www.ev1servers.net) - it can be much more cost effective and hardware problems are on the datacenter.

That's one thing that can cause serious problems if you're colocating... if hardware malfunctions you'll probably have to have a tech at the datacenter replace the hardware (if you even have spare hardware in stock at the datacenter). If you do decide to colo you'll need to have plans for emergencies such as that.

www.gnax.net has some awesome deals for colocation and server leasing, check them out.

If you want big name go Dell, if you want good and cheap (as opposed to good and not cheap from Dell) www.rackmountsetc.com has built me some nice servers before at good pricing.

Or just build 'em yourself (is what I do most of the time) I get all my parts from mwave.com

you might also look into HP, I have no problems at all with their x86 stuff at all, they run rh9 like a charm ...

but if you do decide to go the leasing route, I really recommend matt with hostmetro, they've done everything I can ask for. They get two thumbs up in my book.

gah stay away from HP servers unless your going to run Unix / Linux (mom and dad work for HP)

If I were you, I'd go with Dell. Sure they may be a tad bit expensive but they also have a few easy payment plans which you can take advantage of. You may well be paying for the name to an extent but you're also paying for quality.

have you ever looked at the math when leasing a server? you usually end up paying about 1.5x the cost as opposed to if you just outright buy it ....
