I was looking at your books at Amazon and see they have your first name misspelled on a couple. Have you sought to have them corrected?

No, I am desperately trying to forget the "Mastering JavaScript" experience. The publisher I dealt with was very unethical and I actively disavow those two books :D.

We did some work with DDCPublishing a while back.

Let's just say that they didn't know that the 3 holes go on the left side of the paper.

Ahh...but those books weren't written for DDC Publishing, they were written for another publishing company who then sold them to DDC Publishing and screwed me out of my royalties.

Not only that, but they contracted my wife to write a Front Page book and when she turned in the completed work they told her it was crap and they refused to pay her. This is after telling her at each stage that the writing was great (ie first third was great, second third was great, then when the final third was turned in it suddenly sucked).

Allan:

Does she still have the manuscript and the rights that go with it?

Too bad. I'm in the process of lining up book-length manuscripts for my new publishing company.

no, in a bitter rage I deleted the manuscript - I never had any rights to it anyway. After telling me I sucked, he contracted it to someone else (2 someone elses actually, whom I happen to be friends with) and he told them that THEY too sucked and he published the book with mine and my friends content but with his name on the book and no royalties for either of us. (but I'm not bitter or anything) heh.

So sorry to hear that. It's a shame that people can't treat one another fairly. I hope he sold ZERO copies.

BTW: If you have any more books in you, let me know. Like I said, I'm lining up manuscripts and I'll also be starting a writing contest to drum up additional possibilities.
