Hello. Currently, I use Whois.Cart(). I am not too satisfied with the software and wanting to use another billing software. Right now, ModernBill is too expensive, so we looked into ClientExec for $9.95 a month or so.

Can someone tell me if you can make promotion codes in it, like for discounts?

Not currenly, although coupons / discounts are scheduled to be inplace within the next few releases.

You might take a look at ModernBill, I belive it has that feature.

Although it is not embedded within ClientExec as of yet (as Karen mentioned), someone has made a cool little script that allows you to do just that.

I'd suggest loggin into CE's forums and doing a search... Another work around would be to create a package with the discounted price and not list it within the signup page..

Yeah, I was thinking about doing that. Having another Client Type for promotions.

The only problem with that is you would have to delete it when your promotion is over. :( I'd prefer an automated solution, but soon enough...

Same here. I can't wait for them to release a new version with the updates that have been requested in there forums. The programming with the application is very good, and I would recommend it, it's just that they left out a few things that could generate them more sales, and be more effecient to the client ( web host)

I am using the script with ClientExec, and it works great. It uses a MySql database to maintain the different coupons. You can even place a numeric limit for each coupon - it will automatically expire the promotion code when the limit is reached.

Dacsoft, yeah I know. When I mentioned that, I was referring to my second paragraph about the alternative way to creating a promotion.

I've been thinking about using that script. Does it work with the latest version? Can you send me a link so that I can check it out?

Thanks! Yes the script works fine with the latest version. You can see it on the left side of the Dacsoft Hosting main page (see signature for link). You can use FREE_RS3 to see how it work (the promotion is not valid any longer, but I added it for you to see how it works.

ClientExec has a long way to go to be the product it should be.
