pcmcia 802.11g

i had a bright idea to change my existing 802.11b card to a g card. i just went and got the dabsvalue card (made by edimax).

The problem i have is that it connects fine to my linksys for the internet connection but for the local network it just won't see it. anybody got any ideas because i'm just stumped

do you still have the b card? can you see the network with that?

i do, but it is broken hence my bright idea for the upgrade.

they gave me the wrong drivers :)
