I'm pleased to say I've finally implemented the simple/modest design for my website. You can check it out at www.tutorialmaniacs.com
I am currently looking for companies interested in advertising on the website. The fullsized banner slot (468x60) in the header is now right below the header graphic and should be more noticeable to the visitors. I have a couple of campaigns running right now that will expire within 2 days and I will have 2 slots open for this. (2 ads being rotated concurrently). These slots are offered at a CPM rate of $1.50 CPM with a minimum of 10K impressions purchase ($15 minimum order amount).
Also, there are two fixed slots open on the right hand column of the site in the "premium sponsors" box. I've placed 2 temporary graphics there right now for illustration purposes. Each ad will be of size 120x60. These 120x60 banners are NOT rotated. They are available on a monthly paid basis. You can reserve one slot for only $40/month. (Since we are one week into this month, if you'd like to try this for the remainder of the month it will be $30). These ads are not on a CPM basis - they will be shown on ALL page views. I should also mention that the full sized banner and these small banners are displayed on ALL the pages of the website, not just a select few - please see below for traffic info.
Info about the site: The site is a collection of links to tutorials on various programming/design subjects. The links are hand picked and indexed by hand for quality control purposes. Target audience is obviously 'techies' interested in programming and/or design.
Site traffic: Numbers have been growing steadily. Last month the site received 11976 visitors(10336 uniques) and 39825 pageviews. Since the traffic really didn't start picking up to current levels until 1/3rd of the way through last month, I expect this month's traffic level to be somewhere around 16K to 20K uniques(could be higher) and pageviews to be somewhere around 45K - 60K (I know the range is quite high but its hard to predict at this time. I can provide proof of stats from Awstats if requested.
